The Opportunity:


At its simplest, this means we collect and sort recovered recyclable materials - such as paper, cardboard, glass, plastics and metals - and then we process these materials, maximising what we can re-make into sustainable packaging, predominantly within our own, local manufacturing operations.


We process recyclable materials recovered from more than 3.8 million households, as well as 13,000 commercial and industrial customers' workplaces each year.

This scale significantly contributes positive impacts for the environment.


This is an exciting opportunity for an outcome-driven and customer-focused Purchasing Officer to join our Visy Recycling team in Gibson Island, QLD.

Directly report to State Accounting Manager onsite, your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • New Vendor requests and ensure terms meet Company Policy and have correct paperwork
  • Training Visy Local employees with purchasing ordering requirements
  • Manage any escalated issues raised from team and sites
  • Ensure goods and services are reviewed and most costeffective vendors used
  • Ensure cost are accurately and timely posted to P&L
  • Reconcile weighbridge transactions with charges from Vendors
  • Check timesheets against Kronos
  • Check payroll invoices are correct with Kronos
  • General Admin of Kronos Information
  • Ad hoc duties assigned by State Accounting Manager

What you will bring to the team:

  • Experiences gained in a similar position as Purchasing Officer or Office Management
  • Strong cost focused, analytical skills and process oriented
  • SAP knowledge would be preferred but not a must
  • Great customer service skills and be an excellent communicator
  • A high degree of attention to detail and accuracy
