The purpose of this position is to service and maintain large engines and compression equipment.

You will be required to carry out inspections, serving and repairs in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines and Occupational Health and Safety standards.

You will also perform major overhauls and reconditioning of engines and ancillary components.

About the Role


As a valued member of the workshop team, your role as a Trades Assistant will be to provide support to the mechanical technicians.

Your duties will include the removal/install of small and large engine componentry, rebuilding of rotatable components, general workshop duties, cleaning and preparation for QA inspections.


About the opportunity:

  • Minimum 12 months' experience working on mechanical equipment
  • You have mechanical aptitude and general interest in working on large equipment;
  • Assist in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of various models of gas engines and compressors;
  • Ability to plan and prioritise your daily workload requirements and work within tight timeframes.

About you:

  • Demonstrated high regard for safety
  • Current manual Driver's Licence and Forklift ticket (highly regarded)
  • Doggers ticket (highly regarded)
  • Strong work ethic and a positive team focused attitude with the ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
