The Founders Program helps all UNSW staff, students and alumni to build the capability, mindset and networks they need to create a positive impact through entrepreneurship.

We do this by delivering foundational entrepreneurship experiences, educating founders with knowledge on how to design and execute successful business models, and connecting entrepreneurs to the local and international innovation ecosystems.


The legacy and support of great innovators has ensured that the Founders Program can support the ideas and spark innovation for the community of UNSW.


The Program Manager will develop and deliver engaging and educational content that enables knowledge upskilling, in both hardware and digital spheres as well as entrepreneurial thinking.


Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Manage the successful implementation and delivery of workshops, to support the unique skills building around design, fabrication techniques, sustainable practices, and entrepreneurial foundations.
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies and innovations, that can be implemented for the purpose of education on prototyping.
  • Establish and generate engagement to promote the Founders opportunities across UNSW and wider ecosystem.
  • Evaluate, analyse and report on progress, outcomes and impact of programs with the focus on continuous improvement.
  • Fostering an inclusive and inviting environments for all members of the UNSW community to explore entrepreneurial ideas and skills.

Who You Are:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and 5 years' experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination education, training, and experience in industrial design, engineering, business, or science.
  • Proven experience in program and resource design, development, delivery, and evaluation, including developing, managing, and evaluating projects and initiatives.
  • Knowledge of and interest in entrepreneurship methodologies, lean startup processes and/or related disciplines
  • Demonstrate an expertise in Product Design and Development in both hardware and UI/UX.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to nontechnical stakeholders. Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating ability to liaise, interact and communicate effectively and easily with a broad range of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, deliver and execute skill building programs.
