About the role:

An exciting opportunity to join Box Hill Institute (BHI) as our Media and Communications Writer (Specialist) within our Marketing Team


As the Media and Communications Writer (Specialist), you will be coordinating a range of projects for the PR and Communications function to ensure delivery of consistent information that enables the achievement of the BHI Strategic Plan.

You will also be responsible for developing messaging and content for all external marketing channels to improve BHI brand awareness and presence in the market.


You will use your specialist knowledge and expertise to work independently whilst collaborating with stakeholders to develop targeted and effective content utilising a variety of mediums including media outlets, BHI websites and events, social media and faculty produced webinar presentations.


Your role will play a key part in BHI student recruitment marketing activities as well as student communication initiatives including profiling opportunities for both students and alumni.


Your passion for creativity and writing engaging content will be highly regarded within this role along with your ability to support other team members in their duties to create a collaborative work environment.


This role will report to the PR and Communications Manager and forms part of our highly vibrant Marketing team who play a vital role in BHI student value chain and achieving long term growth.

About You:

  • Qualification in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or similar
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position within a communications role and developing digital content and social media campaigns
  • High level communication skills along with high attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to research, write, edit and produce communication using a variety of communication channels
  • Ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships; takes steps to add value for stakeholders and monitor client satisfaction whilst managing stakeholder issues
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft 365 products and experience developing both digital and print materials
  • Proactive and selfstarting; seizes opportunities and acts upon them
  • Ability to listen to client needs and finding ways to provide continuous improvement
  • Passionate and supportive; ability to work independently and within a team
