The Role You Could Play

The Category & Trade Marketing Manager is a key member of the Marketing team and plays a pivotal role in the development and growth of the MECCA Brands marketing and business strategy. You'll play the important role in developing and executing marketing strategies to maximise revenue and elevate our brand, and be responsible for managing internal stakeholders for alignment on the trade marketing calendar and strategic category marketing opportunities. You'll work cross-functionally with marketing, merchandise, retail, services, and e-Commerce teams, conducting sales analysis and generating insights to inform strategy and optimise customer activities.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all marketing activity is delivered with a commercial lens and delivers against brand, category and commercial priorities to deliver sales targets
  • Monitor sales and commercial performance and proactively pre-empt and suggest key marketing trade actions to deliver business commercial objectives, in a creative and on-brand way for MECCA
  • Opportunity to manage brand portfolio including development on strategic annual brand plans
  • Work in close partnership with the Category Marketing Managers Brand Managers/Heads of Category to ensure category, brand and commercial insights are integral to all trade marketing planning and that the commercials of the business are always front and centre in all marketing activity
  • Work with Merchandise and Supply Chain team on ensuring operational/trade considerations are considered within our planning and front of mind within campaign and broader marketing planning
  • Be the voice of the numbers at MECCA from a marketing point of view, ensuring there is a commercial lens to all marketing trade activity
  • Ensure cross-functional marketing inputs trade and reporting is streamlined and efficient for all teams
  • Interpret the available data and customer insights to come up with a tailored action plan that will grow Category turnover working with cross-functional leads

What you will bring

You will have extensive experience in category and trade marketing with exposure to developing growth opportunities within marketing and business strategy.

You will also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Relevant industry experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience proven channel marketing experience
  • Expertise in marketing trade programme development
  • Proven project management skills
  • Clear understanding of markets, sales & distribution, competitor activity, consumer & shopper behaviour, category management & business insights in FMCG context
  • Strong analytical ability and commercial acumen to understand market trend
