Risk and Compliance Officer


Mater Christi College, Belgrave is a Catholic School established by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan of the order of St Benedict in 1963.

Position Overview
Education Support staff have a key role in supporting and contributing to the strategic goals of Mater Christi College.

The Risk and Compliance Officer position serves a key function in the day-to-day operations as well as the future direction of the College.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Certificate IV Compliance and Risk Management and/or Certificate in Governance and Risk Management
  • Experience in risk and compliance
  • Ability to work within a
    Microsoft Office 365/
    Teams environment.
  • High level utilisation of
    Synergetic, SIMON and
    EdSmart or similar
  • Ability to adapt to ICT changes in line with key aspects of the position.

Compliance

Responsible for:

  • Oversight of relevant aspects of compliance with Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS), Good Samaritan Education (GSE) and VRQA.
  • Support Risk Management process of the College within the risk management framework
  • Promote and support Child Safeguarding around a robust risk and compliance framework
  • Provide advice and input on compliance and risk issues
  • Establish processes for investigating and analysing data with respect to reportable incidents
  • Management of RTO status/auspicing as required.
  • Annual compliance requirements (including but not limited to Anaphylaxis/Asthma, Mandatory reporting).
  • Working with relevant staff to manage risk assessments of College excursions, camps and events.
  • Ongoing maintenance and review of College risk register and compliance calendar; ensuring timely compliance reporting
  • Assisting the principal with policy preparation and review.
  • Member of Workplace Health and Safety Committee and Return to Work Coordinator.
  • Staff, contractor and volunteer induction processes.
  • Maintaining professional learning records.
  • Attendance at relevant Board Sub-Committee.
  • Other duties as required by the Business Manager.
