About the Role
Our client is seeking a Graduate Family Services Practitioner in either Croydon or Blackburn location. You will be undertaking and providing direct client support and case management. If you're looking for a positive and supportive environment, then this opportunity is for you.
Skills and Abilities:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent
- A recent graduate of the above, with relevant placement experience in family services/childrelated case management
- An understanding of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and Best Interest Principles
- Knowledge of the practises to engage and communicate with clients from a diverse range of backgrounds, including those from an Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander or CALD background, or the LGBTI community
- Experience in working with family services and child protection systems, counselling and/or therapeutic services
- Capacity to work flexibly and innovatively to meet the needs of families, children and young people
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing an outreach service to children, young people and families with complex needs
- Completing and undertaking Child and Family Assessments
- Undertaking administrative and data tasks
- Responsible for ongoing analysis of the child's safety and wellbeing in the care of their family, that included an analysis of family functioning and client outcomes.
- Liaising with Child Protection, VACCA and other agencies.
- Preparation of reports and detailed case notes
