The Job Opportunity:

Welcome to Mipac We are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Metallurgist to join our optimization crew at our Perth office. If you've been at the Senior Process Engineer or Superintendent level and love using your process analytics and optimization skills to provide comprehensive solutions, this role is perfect for you.

Join us in making use of our distinct remote optimization and deployment method that promotes work-life harmony while still allowing you to roll up your sleeves when needed. As part of a dynamic team consisting of Designers, Control System Engineers, and System Specialists, you'll play a pivotal role in implementing automation, control, and digital solutions tailored to add value for our clients.

In this position, you'll be offering a range of services to our clientele primarily from the mining and mineral processing sectors, such as Met accounting, Discovery audits, Control strategy changes, Commissioning and tuning, and Process information reviews.

  • Engage with customers to grasp their operational challenges and opportunities; act as a client advocate.
  • Evaluate potential ROI through assessments.
  • Apply your operational expertise to craft integrated solutions that address client issues across all automation levels.
  • Collaborate with a range of specialists in designing and deploying advanced process control solutions.
  • Offer remote and onsite troubleshooting and technical support.
  • Stay updated on cutting-edge process control innovations.
  • Optimize and maintain our remote optimization portal for efficient knowledge sharing and value tracking.
  • Provide mentorship and expert advice when needed.

About the Ideal Candidate:

  • Hold a degree in Metallurgy, Process, or Chemical Engineering with a focus on Process Control.
  • Bring at least 7 years of experience in a metallurgical environment with a strong background in process control and production reporting.
  • Prior experience in concentrator processes is essential; additional exposure to hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, and utilities is advantageous.
  • International and consulting experience across various operations is preferred.
  • Demonstrate an ability to manage competing priorities and business objectives.
  • Proficient in designing robust process control strategies.
  • Possess solid knowledge of Windows OS, process dynamics, mathematics, simulation, and technical computing.
  • Advanced proficiency in production systems like AVEVA PI.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with a client-centric approach.
