Content Specialist

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Michaelcamposcpa Full time
Content underpins our entire marketing strategy here at Tracksuit. We're hiring someone to help create the fuel that takes our growth engine to the next level as we expand globally. People are big fans of our content, as it helps them build better brands.

We're looking for someone who is just as skilled at writing snappy, short-form copy for social media as they are at writing a data-driven article. This isn't your typical content role: we're now tracking over 4000 consumer brands across five markets, which means we're sitting on a huge moat of interesting data and powerful insights.

If you're hungry to help us educate the wider industry on the world of marketing and brand tracking, then this is the role for you.

You'll know how to make Tracksuit relevant by localising storytelling that aligns with key industry calendar moments and brands in culture. You can write with humour and make data fun and playful, and have a background in B2B content writing, copywriting, journalism or social media is preferred for this role.

Please note - while we have listed this role as being based in our Sydney office, we are also open to Auckland applicants and this person working from our NZ office.

Why this role is exciting

You'll be building a brand that makes a genuine impact on the marketing ecosystem and the careers of our customers. You'll also play a huge role in creating a world where the business community values brand marketing as a core driver of long-term commercial success.

We're helping brand marketers become more elevated in their status and not need to spend so much time justifying themselves to sceptical stakeholders. Where imaginative, thoughtful, meaningful brand marketing is more commonplace than intrusive, irritating and ineffective promotion. And where ambitious businesses grow bigger and more sustainably.

You are joining as an early team member and will be able to shape the culture of the marketing team and the company in general.

As the Content Specialist, you will be reporting to the Content and Communications Lead and will be responsible for:

  • Writing both short and long-form content, including social posts, case studies, thought leadership and educational resources that build affinity in our key markets
  • Content scheduling and effectively maximising the distribution of this content across multiple channels, including social media, newsletters, video, blog, and PR
  • Ideating ways for Tracksuit to cut through the noise and tell interesting stories with our distinct point-of-view and tone of voice
  • Monitoring our content performance to report on results on marketing initiatives
  • Identifying knowledge gaps and the opportunities for content to solve pain points and make marketers smarter
  • Partnering with our designers and other creative teams to create visuals that bring your content to life
  • Working with internal stakeholders to ensure the right messaging and content is being delivered to the right audiences
  • The ability to do basic video shooting and editing on a phone is also a bonus

That's the role, so who are you?

  • A kind, smart and genuine human who's excited by the world of marketing
  • An excellent communicator who has strong content and copywriting experience across different mediums (blog, website, social media, email)
  • Strong digital capabilities, including SEO knowledge and previous CMS and CRM experience
  • Experience adapting content for social and keeping a brand tone of voice consistent across all channels
  • Strong research skills and the ability to translate complex information into accessible, engaging content
  • 3-4+ years experience in a similar role, ideally in B2B content writing, copywriting, journalism or social media
  • A collaborative team player who's willing to work closely with different stakeholders in the business to get the best results
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, PR, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (this isn't mandatory)

Why Tracksuit?

As one of ANZ's fastest growing startups, we've hand-picked a world-class team of kind, ambitious, generous, and smart humans.

Tracksuit is a rocketship: over the last 2 years, we've scaled from 5 people to 75 and grown from $1M in ARR to over $12M ARR. And there's lots more growth to come. At only 3 and a bit years old, we're incredibly grateful and excited to be working with over 450 epic brands across NZ, AU, the US, Canada and the UK, like frank body, Bailey Nelson, MyFitnessPal, Sharesies, Bondi Sands and more.

Our vision is to be used in every strategic growth conversation for the best consumer brands of today and tomorrow. We're doing this by becoming the common language to measure, understand and communicate the value of brand building.

We've built beautiful, always-on, radically affordable brand tracking — taking an old-school, $100k+ market research product and making it easier to use and more affordable.

Why you'll thrive here:

We're a tight-knit, supportive, and ambitious team, keen to empower companies to use brand to drive success. Our culture thrives on transparency, trust, learning, and constant development and improvement. Underpinning the experience are our competitive salaries, and other great benefits.

Come and experience life at one of the fastest-growing startups in New Zealand and Australia while we are still in the growth phase:
  • Competitive market rate remuneration
  • ESOP for all staff, so you are rewarded for your best work and have a share in the success
  • Beautiful hubs in AKL, SYD, LDN, and NYC and we are basing our teams out of those cities. We provide flexibility (location, timing) day to day
  • Health and wellness benefits
  • Learning and development support for all of our staff
  • Mentors
  • Bonus annual leave (6 weeks)
  • Company socials – we celebrate our success together
  • We practice complete transparency with compensation, goals (personal and professional), feedback, and high level strategic conversations

Obviously, when you join, you'll receive an epic Tracksuit which reflects our vibe. We are built for speed and comfort, we're fun and informal (yet tidy), and we're practical and ready for anything.

We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace — a place where we can each be ourselves and do the best work of our lives. Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet some of the requirements, women and under-represented groups of candidates tend to only apply when they meet every requirement.

If you think you have what it takes but don't necessarily tick every requirement on this job description, please get in touch and apply.

We practise transparent compensation at Tracksuit, which means we put a real focus on fair compensation for our people and their roles.
