Associate Director - Facultative

The Role

  • Develop the Australasian facultative portfolio through organic growth, prospecting new business opportunities, identifying markets and providing solutions to key issues
  • Determine appropriate solutions, structure, price and placement strategies that meet the client's needs and deliver profitable business for a range of clients
  • Ability to negotiate costeffective placements and maintain strong relationships with the reinsurance market
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects including research, initiation of contact, meetings, responding to RFPs, new business presentations
  • Work with the ANZ Head of Facultative and colleagues across the business to identify opportunities and capitalise on account penetration and cross selling opportunities
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant products and services offered by WTW
  • Oversee and support the ANZ Head of Facultative with client and prospect pitches/tenders, ensuring client profitability
  • In collaboration with the Global Facultative P&C team and the ANZ Head of Facultative determine appropriate solutions, structuring and pricing deals
  • Maintain and grow relationships with underwriters in Australia and international markets
  • Network with external specialists (lawyers, TPAs, insurers).
  • Work with the team to price and design conceptual programmes
  • Understand the clients' business and risk management needs and look for solutions to deliver those needs through the provision of ongoing service
  • Draw on expertise within specialist technical teams within the BU and across the Group for clients as required

The Requirements

  • Indepth knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance, either within Direct or Facultative Broking or Underwriting. Experience across retail, reinsurance and retrocession property placements or Financial Lines would be an advantage
  • Proven track record of reinsurance relationships and programme design
  • Strong relationships in the Property & Casualty market
- "Whole chain" experience dealing with clients and colleagues globally from retail to reinsurance and cedant clients, offering fronting solutions and specific facultative opportunities as well as portfolio protections

  • Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional client service and building client relationships
  • High levels of business and financial acumen with an understanding of company strategy and change management
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence within a matrix environment
  • Strong facilitation skills able to use inclusive and collaborative styles to manage ambiguity and gain agreement
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Able to prioritise, manage deadlines and work under pressure
  • Comfortable explaining complex concepts and making recommendations to clients/client servicing teams
  • Your professionalism and personal presentation will set you apart when you walk through the door.
  • You have strong technical and analytical capabilities
