The Role:

  • Opportunity to work as an Finance Officer within a cricket organisation
  • Governing body of cricket in Queensland, Australia.
  • Based in Albion, QLD
  • Smart casual
- $38 per hour pay rate

Key Details:

  • Work week can vary from 25 days a week depending on workload, part time or full time hours
  • Unlimited working rights accepted
  • Double vax mandatory
  • Role will be 100% office based
  • Experience working as Finance Officer essential
  • Experience with Dynamics software highly advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities (some may not apply):

  • Prepare and consolidate regular Finance & COO reports which are accurate, easy-to-interpret, fit-for-purpose and delivered in a timely manner
  • Accounts receivable, payable and concur expense management
  • Draft and finalise ACR reporting for both Senior Accountant & Head of Finance to review
  • Assist with budgets and forecasts preparation and consolidation as well as supporting managers in the completion of the budget & forecast packages
  • Make comparative analyses and provide analytical reviews & feedback for various projects across both Queensland Cricket and Australian Cricket as required
  • Accurately record and input all invoices and credit notes within the AX system
  • Compilation of regular Debtors reports & distribution to the relevant departments
  • Liaise with the appropriate departmental managers and communicate with customers to secure payment on a timely basis
  • Audit support and assistance with annual financial statements preparation as directed by the Finance Manager
  • Prepare monthly cash flow update including full year forecast & cash flow budget
  • Record all relevant bank transactions into the AX system and ensure they are accurately reconciled and completed within monthly deadlines
  • Carry out a range of month end functions designed to ensure revenues and costs are closed off at the required point and are allocated to the correct cost centres and correct period
  • Maintain the lease liability schedule and fixed asset register (adding new assets, scrapping and depreciation)
  • Strive for procedures improvements & innovation to ensure Queensland Cricket acts as a proactive and future focused organisation
  • Provide assistance as annual leave relief for the Finance Manager and the Senior Accounts Officer & Facilities Coordinator to ensure processes and timeframes are met
  • Provide assistance with ad hoc reports and projects for the Corporate Services department as required
  • Undertake general administrative responsibilities including reception relief from time to time
  • Participate in Finance Projects with CA, States and Territories as required

Experience:

  • Accounts payable and receivable experience including experience utilising a computerised accounting package

About You:

  • Excellent numeracy skills required with a high degree of accuracy in transposing numbers and performing complex calculations.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility for departmental objectives, KPI's and deadlines; and
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
