Currently seeking an experienced People and Safety Officer to implement and manage the People and Safety function at my clients processing plant. The successful candidate will ensure that all policies and processes align with company systems and comply with federal and state legislation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Implement and maintain a safe working environment for employees, subcontractors, and visitors
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate storage and management of chemicals and SDSs
  • Develop and implement traffic management and emergency plans
  • Coordinate training programs, including first aid, working from heights, confined spaces, and fire training
  • Manage the safety committee and ensure quorum is met
  • Develop a WHS Matrix and update the induction process to meet current regulations
  • Ensure all necessary users are trained in World Manager (Jedi)
  • Collaborate with the Head of People and Safety to achieve goals and objectives

  • Ability to work under pressure in a continually changing environment
  • Attention to detail and a mindset of continuous improvement
  • Ability to lead by example and contribute to a positive workplace culture
  • Experience in the People and Safety field
