TeacherActive is proud to be working with a OFSTED rated Out-standing Primary School in Derby, the school is looking for a experienced and Qualified Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO).

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher who has a strong knowledge of supporting children with Special Educational Needs. An understanding and empathetic nature will be key on making a positive contribution to the children. The confidence and ability to speak to students, parents/carers and staff is essential as well as an awareness of local and national agencies that provide support to young people and their families.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs
  • To either hold the National Award for SENDCO s or to have an aspiration to work towards this
  • Have a strong understanding of the SEND code practice
  • Be calm and focused with a resolution-focused approach
  • Be able to motivate, support and inspire learners, members of staff and our wider community
