About youAs our Research Data Coder Administrator, you'll be a reliable, enthusiastic and engaged university medical student with a high level of written and verbal communication skills who has a commitment to meeting deadlines.
To thrive in this role, you'll:
be a second year or later medical student
understand medical terminology with the ability to interpret medical content relating to patient clinical consultations
be thorough and accurate, paying great attention to detail and able to work quickly on tasks
have excellent record keeping and organisational skills
have knowledge of and adhere to privacy, confidentiality and security requirements associated with the collection and storage of project data
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Research Officer and Statistician, you'll be responsible for the data entry and coding of patient clinical consultation encounter forms completed by general practice registrars
In addition, you'll:
decipher clinical consultation encounter forms within an on-line database
allocate accurate medical terms and medication information to coded fields.
log in and clarify all inconsistent, ambiguous, or non-specific information by consulting the responsible staff member/medical officer, and update database records as appropriate.
participate in clinical coding audits, coder education and training and quality improvement activities as required.The Benefits
