Are you passionate about water conservation and sustainable management? Do you have a strong background in Integrated Water Management (IWM)? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our local government council in central Melbourne as an IWM Lead.


Position Overview:


As the IWM Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing strategies to manage water resources effectively and sustainably within our council area.

You will work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and internal departments, to develop and deliver innovative IWM initiatives.


  • Coordinate the implementation of the adopted Integrated Water Management Plan.
  • Manage the Infrastructure Unit's IWM and WSUD projects and initiatives
  • Contribute to building the capability and expertise of the Infrastructure Unit
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to embed the principles of Integrated Water Management

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Water Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum 6 years) in Integrated Water Management or a similar role
  • Familiarity with local and national water legislation, guidelines, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship
