As an Engineering Manager - Chapter Lead, you'll report directly to the Crew Tech Lead and provide expert advice relating to technology, solution design and architecture, people leadership and hiring to drive excellence in technical delivery as per group engineering practices and standards.

You will bring a perfect blend of people management, technical expertise and will be responsible for shaping the evolution of technical squad through contribution to the BB Tech strategy, quarterly crew memo, prioritise backlog, define delivery roadmap, and determine which problems to invest in solving.

  • Have prior experience in leading and inspiring high performing software engineering teams or may have previously worked in the capacity of a Senior Software Engineer and are looking towards taking on direct people management opportunities and have owned wide-reaching initiatives that improve our systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a bias towards action.
  • Effectively communicate engineering practice standards and consistent ways of working across squads and CBA that align to global best practice.
  • Promotes open communication and creates a safe working environment where our engineers' voices are heard in order to achieve great outcomes for our organisation, our customers and the community.
  • Drives operational excellence and supports teams in charge of missioncritical production services with diverse stakeholders and complex dependencies.
  • Encourages risktaking and constructive challenge while growing diverse and inclusive teams.

Tech Skills:

  • Knowledge of and experience with Jetpack Compose with a solid understanding of Material Design
  • Knowledge of cross platform technologies will be a bonus
  • Advanced experience in best standards and first in class software engineering and architecture principles in mobile
  • Possess advanced knowledge in source control management such as Git and Gitflow
  • Have experience with CI/CD (TeamCity) and exposure to testing automation including UI tests. Experience with Github Actions would be a plus.
  • Understanding and knowledge of best practices in CICD mobile would be highly regarded with deep understanding/experience in metrics automation as well as performance tuning and capacity planning
