About the role
You will be acting as the Jemena site representative and ensuring the safety and integrity of gas assets through the supervision of all works in the vicinity of gas distribution and high pressure pipelines, including; Trunk, Primary and Secondary assets.
The nature of the works may require out of hours work, travel and some living away from home will be required.
Work will be located around Sydney, Canberra and Newcastle.Your responsibilities will include
- Ensuring the safety and integrity of the asset prior to, during and post construction activities
- Providing direction to Jemena contractors, Jemena staff and unrelated third parties to ensure strict adherence to procedure and company policies
- Ensuring a safe working environment and compliance to project specific Safety Management Plans (SMP)
- Ensuring site environmental requirements are carried out in accordance with approved process and project specific environmental management plans
- Supervise all civil works and open/issue and manage Jemena permit to work system for sites
- Supervise any testing, defect assessment and remedial works on the pipeline and coating
- Issue updates and reports on the progress and outcomes
- Liaise with Jemena, relevant stakeholders and government departments as required
- Understand and implement Jemena policies and project specific requirements
- Understand legislation regarding working at depth/heights and in and around other utilities
- Provide advice/mentor staff and contractors to assist with safe and efficient delivery of works
About you
- Experience within the Gas Industry (essential)
- Civil works experience (essential)
- Basic MS office suite skills (Word and Excel) (essential)
- Driver's licence (essential)
- Accreditation as a Jemena Permit Issuer (Cold, Hot, Excavation) (highly regarded)
- Experience with and interpretation of technical drawings/plans/maps (highly regarded)
- Experience with construction/maintenance of steel pipelines to AS2885 or 4645 (highly regarded)
- Experience with the use of specialised equipment such as 02 monitors and pipe locators (desirable)
