Reporting to the HSEQ Superintendent, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Providing advice to Project teams based on legislative requirements and company philosophy (mentoring & coaching role to key players)
  • Supporting and assisting supervisors and employees on daily health, safety, environmental and quality issues
  • Playing a key role in the implementation of Project Safety and Environmental plans
  • Maintaining records and the HSEQ database
  • Conducting regular workplace inspections and audits
  • Participating in incident investigations
  • Driving the corrective actions register
  • Building positive attitudes and behaviours towards safety
  • Conducting inductions where required
  • Assisting the team to develop JHA's
  • Coordinate the site emergency procedures when required
  • Stay up to date with legislative changes in the field of safety

To be successful in this role you will require:

ESSENTIAL

  • Certificate IV OHS level education or higher
  • A good working knowledge of Health and Safety Laws and Regulations
  • Extensive exposure to mining or civil OHS environments
  • Standard 11 Industry Generic Induction
  • Intermediate computer skills

DESIRABLE

  • S1,2,3 and G2 qualifications
  • Senior First Aid
  • Cert IV in Workplace Training & Assessment
  • ICAM
  • Auditing qualification and/or experience
