The Property Officer role is a varied position in a supportive team, which offers the incumbent an opportunity to play a key role in supporting a diverse range of community groups who utilise and lease Councils many facilities.

Within this role you will balance commercial interests with social responsibilities to provide affordable facilities for the benefit of the community.

You will be responsible for providing specialised property services through partnering with internal and external stakeholders and be accountable for investigating and recommending new lease/tenancy-based opportunities on developed and undeveloped council-owned land, identifying fit for purpose facilities, and negotiating customised tenancy agreements.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Coordinating the endtoend lease process for Councils property portfolio including research and investigation into leasing, tenancy and development opportunities;
  • Negotiating and developing complex community leases in accordance with legislative and regulatory frameworks;
  • Being out in the community conducting site visits, and developing strong relationships with community stakeholders;
  • Responding to a wide range of queries from tenants relating to current leases, future leasing opportunities and other property management matters;
  • Proactively providing input and monitoring the expenditure budget for the assigned property portfolio;
  • Asset management and maintenance, including capturing information for future building upgrades.

_About you:

  • You ideally hold a Diploma in Property Management, Land Economics, Valuation or related field, or demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role combined with ongoing professional development;
  • You have experience in leasing and property/asset management;
  • Your strong relationship building and influencing skills mean you are well placed to work with a range of community stakeholders, tenants and internal business teams;
  • A great negotiator, you have the ability to achieve consensus, balancing commercial interests with community needs and objectives.

This role provides a commencing hourly rate of between $43.48 to $51.10 dependent on skills and experience + 10.5% superannuation.
