Job Description:


ASPEC Engineering Pty Ltd (ASPEC) is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm that provides highly specialised services to mining companies, ports and heavy industries.

From offices in Brisbane, Perth, and Newcastle, ASPEC has developed close ties with clients, and provides a comprehensive service in core business areas of materials handling machines, infrastructure and asset integrity.

Due to the high demand for our services from industry, ASPEC requires a Structural / Mechanical Drafter / Designer, based in South Brisbane.


Key responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed 3D structural and mechanical design models and drawings using Autodesk Inventor, working alongside experienced design engineers and draftsman within the engineering department
  • Provide a strong focus on continuous improvement and drafting development
  • Assist with project coordination to achieve overall business requirements
  • Learn about material estimation and control of bills of materials
  • Report and present project analysis within design reviews
  • Attend site trips as and when required
  • Liaise with clients and subcontractors if required (or be taught how to do so)

To be a successful fit for this full-time / permanent role, you will have:

  • Experience with AutoDesk Inventor (required)
  • Experience with AutoDesk Vault (beneficial)
  • Experience with AutoDesk AutoCAD (beneficial)
  • Experience with AutoDesk Navisworks (beneficial)
  • Team player and passionate about 3D design
  • A TAFE diploma (or equivalent) and preferably experience within Structural / Mechanical Design
