Who We Are:

The Queensland Government Customer and Digital Group (QGCDG) aims to foster a thriving digital economy in Queensland and provide more responsive, simple, and effective services for all Queenslanders.

We offer strategic and policy leadership for Queensland Government in digital, customer experience, and service delivery,supporting agencies with design management, capability development, corporate shared services, and customer service channels.

Data and AI (DAI) within QGCDG is a centralised and secure government unit that supports agencies in leveraging analytics and Artificial Intelligence to address complex challenges.

DAI also offers guidance on managing and utilising data and AI technologies, providing policy and business advice.

This role holds significant importance within the Queensland Government's Data and Artificial Intelligence (DAI) division as it directly contributes to addressing complex challenges through analytics and providing crucial policy and business advice ondata management, usage, and publication.

As the Director, you play a pivotal role in leading the development and implementation of the Whole of Government Data Catalogue, fostering collaboration among departments, government entities, and industry stakeholders to support the National Data Catalogue (NDC), therebyensuring maximum outcomes and alignment with overarching government strategies.

Moreover, by spearheading initiatives to enable data sharing and utilisation across Queensland Government, overseeing the Open Data Office, and coordinating crossagency projects, you contribute to enhancing transparency, economic benefits, and innovation in data discovery and usage.

Your provision of strategic advice to senior executives and active involvement in cross-jurisdictional and federal data initiatives further underscores the critical natureof this role in driving informed decision-making and ensuring alignment with government policy directions, ultimately advancing the state's data strategy, andfostering a culture of empowerment and excellence within the team.

Your work extends beyond your immediate role, contributing to a more connected,accessible, and inclusive Queensland.

We are seeking a dynamic individual with a strong customer-centric mindset and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills to lead our team in the Data and Artificial Intelligence division of the Queensland Government Customer and Digital Group.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven leadership abilities in managing anddeveloping agile, outcome-focused teams capable of tackling strategically important projects.

They should possess excellent research, analytical, and creative problemsolving skills, along with experience in fiscal management and corporate governance within an Open Data environment.

This role requires a visionary leader who can drive innovation, foster collaboration, and deliver tangible results in advancing data-driven initiatives for the benefit of the Queensland community.
