The Queensland Government Customer and Digital Group's (QGCDG) focus is to grow a thriving digital economy in Queensland, and enable more responsive, simple and effective services for all Queenslanders.

They provide strategic and policy leadership for Queensland Government on digital, customer experience and service delivery matters. They also support agencies with design management, capability development, corporate shared services, and customer service channels.
Data and Artificial Intelligence (DAI) is a centralised and secure whole-of-government area within QGCDG.

DAI aids government agencies to find solutions to complex challenges through analytics and provide policy and business advice on how to manage, use and publish data.

Why your role matters

As the Data Capability Lead, you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of more effective whole-of-government data strategies that enhance our data capabilities and support our business objectives relating to data sharing, use practices, discovery, and open data.

You will work closely with a range of government and industry stakeholders to cultivate a community of practice to identify opportunities for leveraging data to improve decision-making and reducing data management and sharing barriers.

The work you do has a ripple effect far beyond your immediate role.

Who you are.

This is a high-impact role for an experienced Data Capability Lead with an in-depth knowledge and first-hand experience of developing and implementing contemporary data management approaches and governance frameworks relating to how to manage, access, use, share and publish data.

In this pivotal role, you will need to convey complex concepts in data and analytics in a manner that is easily understood, and actionable, but also confidently and constructively challenge or advocate prevailing thoughts and processes.

Beyond your data management capabilities, we value your proactive mindset, your collaborative approach, and your ability to understand agency business drivers and thereby identify barriers and opportunities for improvement and change.
