The Procurement Support Officer is part of the Procurement branch and provides support to the DoT Procurement team by effectively managing and assisting the team with its day to day procurement and administration functions.
The role is responsible for updating and maintaining the contract management system producing reports, undertaking research and other administrative tasks as required.
The Opportunity
- Strong strategic, analytical, and problemsolving skills including experience in responding to complex policy issues, in particular cancer screening programs.
- Ability to identify and synthesise a wide range of information and cancer screening program data to provide clear policy advice.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft complex policy documents and quality briefings in short timeframes.
- Ability to quickly gain an understanding of current and emerging issues and identify and work within Health and Cancer policies
- Demonstrated ability to engage and build collaborative and collegiate relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly in stateCommonwealth relations and working with clinical/technical experts to influence positive outcomes.
- A highly motivated selfstarter with a continuous improvement/best practice attitude.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to work within a project management framework, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines within a busy team environment under limited direction.
- Highly collaborative and 'can do' work ethic, willing to work across teams to achieve program outcomes, and the ability to respond in a positive and flexible manner.
- To be eligible for employment with the Department of Health applicants must be an Australian citizen at the time an offer of employment is made
- Undertake other duties as directed with a willingness to contribute to a positive team culture.
- Experience working on complex policy matters and associated implementation
- Ability to identify strategic linkages based on fast and thorough research of existing material.
- Ability for constructive and professional engagement with a range of stakeholders while navigating competing agendas.
- Clear written and oral communication with a demonstrated ability to refine this for different audiences.
- Undertake other duties as directed with a willingness to contribute to a positive team culture.
