Tools Warehouse are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of our business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for the entire group. The Financial Controller will work closely with the owner to provide strategic financial guidance and ensure the financial health of the business.

What will you be doing?

Based at our Wetherill Park Head Office, the key responsibilities of this Full Time position include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the financial reporting process for the group, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making
  • Oversee the budgeting process for the group, including the development of annual budgets and ongoing monitoring of actual results against budget
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to the owner to support business decisions
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Manage the group's cash flow and working capital to ensure adequate liquidity
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders
  • Manage and develop a team of finance professionals

This is a hands on role where you will be responsible for the preparation of the financial accounts and full month-end processes whilst processing, overseeing and managing the reconciliation process.

Working in a fast-paced environment you will have the opportunity to get involved in and influence all aspects of the business, establish new processes and seek out improved ways of working.

Does this sound like you?

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following qualities:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • CA/CPA qualified with training in a mid-tier or Big 4 accounting firm is preferred but not essential
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance, with at least 2 years in a senior financial management role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to operate as a business partner, engaging regularly with the operations teams
  • Flexible and adaptable, you are able to work effectively in a high growth environment
  • Excellent work-ethic and motivated to build and develop your career
  • This is a hands on role and you must be willing to work on all aspects of the finance department, from processing, reviewing and creating &/or improving current processes
