Job Summary:Martinus are seeking a Diesel Fitter/Mechanic to join our Plant team, based from Rocklea, Brisbane.


Our Diesel Fitters/mechanics are tasked with the inspection, maintenance and repair of our Light and heavy vehicles used across projects.


The role includes the completion of scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance of all sizes of our diesel vehicles, emergency repairs as required and inspection/diagnostic testing of motors to ensure they are working safely and efficiently.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for upholding the Martinus Rail principles and company culture.
  • Focus on Martinus Rail's commitment to achieve 'target zero', being no injuries or illnesses to people or incidents that adversely affect the environment.
  • Complete required tasks daytoday relevant to scope of works.
  • Participate in site management of health, safety, quality, and environment management.
  • Take part in risk management processes, identify, and mitigate risks prior to works commencing.
  • Asset management ensure all required diesel plant are maintained and inventoried.
  • Actively seek to increase efficiency and effectiveness of all Martinus Rail systems and processes, relevant to the specific job and the overall organisation.
  • Onsite face to face participation of toolbox talks, prestart, and other inductions.
  • Ensure maintenance records of diesel plant are clear and kept up to date.
  • Carry out project risk assessments and risk register reviews.
  • Challenge unsafe behaviour/attitude at any level when encountered.
  • Work with Supervisors and Managers to solve safety problems.
  • Where required, ensure that all activities and issues are documented on daily 'site diary' forms.

Qualifications:
Certificate III/IV in Engineering or Mechanical trade - specialising in Plant/vehicle Mechanics
