Seeking a Maintenance Services Assistant for a fulfilling role within a supportive environment, offering potential for long-term career growth and professional advancement. We are looking to welcome a Maintenance Services Assistant to join our team on a casual basis at our Wangaratta home in Victoria.

The Role:
The Maintenance Services Assistant will be accountable for executing, organizing, overseeing, and assessing an efficient preventative and corrective maintenance program for buildings, equipment, and grounds at the residential aged care home and/or retirement village.
Key Duties:
- Maintain buildings and public areas, including grounds, to a safe, high-quality standard.
- Carry out general maintenance tasks to ensure facilities are safe, up to standard, and functioning properly.
- Perform garden maintenance tasks to keep garden areas safe, tidy, and well-maintained.
- Keep records of maintenance and gardening programs.
- Maintain stock items for regular maintenance and gardening tasks.
- Support in maintaining an updated asset register.
- Contribute to refurbishment, equipment replacement, and capital works planning.
- Identify preventive maintenance needs and create a schedule.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective actions, including essential services.
- Supervise external contract agreements, as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and servicing of vehicles at the facility.
- Provide on-call service when required and perform other tasks within skill set as directed.
Requirements:
Qualifications for the role:
- Proficiency in maintenance and gardening.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Current National Police Certificate or ability to obtain one.
- Knowledge or experience in developing and managing a maintenance program.
- Accredited trade certificate relevant to the position.
- Background in residential aged care, retirement living, or related field.
Applicants must meet the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to be considered for employment with Respect.
