Job Overview: As a Garden Labourer, your role will involve driving to various sites to conduct tree planting and maintenance activities. These activities include tree watering, re-staking, weed control, and the use of company tablets to record your work. We are looking for dedicated and environmentally conscious individual who is ready to contribute to a greener future. Key Responsibilities: Tree Planting:

  • Drive to and from sites with care and responsibility
  • Load and unload selected trees, mulch, and other materials as needed
  • Plant and replant vegetation with precision and care
  • Provide essential watering to ensure tree health and growth
  • Perform formative pruning to encourage optimal growth
  • Utilize wheelbarrows and buckets to mulch trees using a mulch fork
  • Collaborate with specialist equipment operators (excavators/stump grinders)
  • Collect spoils and load them onto trucks for removal
  • Install tree stakes and tree ties using mechanical aids (thumper/smash hammer)
  • Start pumps to water trees
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, whether on paper or electronically

You will have:

  • You must have a valid MR license to drive to different sites
  • Passion for Horticulture/Arboriculture: A background or certification in horticulture/arboriculture (Cert II/III) is highly desirable
  • Your workday begins at 7.00 am Monday to Friday
  • You must have a White Card or be willing to obtain one
  • This role involves labour-intensive work, so physical fitness is essential
  • You'll collaborate with a small team, and you should be able to work independently when required
  • A strong commitment to environmental conservation and tree care is a must
