At YCSS we pride ourselves on providing a high standard of practical support and therapeutic programs to children and young people between the ages of with complex behaviours and needs.

YCSS supports a range of different placement options including respite care, crisis/emergency accommodation and longer term placements which fosters professional growth for our Residential Youth Workers.

About You:

  • You are resilient, confident, and able to maintain selfawareness when dealing with a high level of challenging behaviours, historical trauma and Reactive Attachment Disorder.
  • You have proven experience working with children, young people and families with complex needs, challenging behaviours and a history of trauma.

You hold a Certificate IV (or higher) in Community Services, Education, Health Care or qualification within the Hope and healing minimum qualification framework

You currently hold or can obtain a Blue Card, Drivers License, First Aid, CPR, and Comprehensive motor vehicle insurance

  • You will complete a Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women
  • Licensed Care Service Criminal History screening check (please note that this check can take 4 weeks to be processed).

You will have availability to complete Afternoon, Weekend and sleepover shifts

Willing to work on the Northside of Brisbane

About the Role:

  • This role requires you to utilise therapeutic professional parenting care which includes providing intensive support to children and young people through daily routines, hygiene, education, recreational lifestyle support, cooking and maintenance of the home.
  • At YCSS we work within a traumainformed framework with children and young people who display complex and challenging behaviours including but not limited to emotional dysregulation and verbal and physical aggression.
  • In this role you will be responsible for responding to crisis situations, working within YCSS policies, procedures, and risk management directions.
  • All YCSS employees uphold a commitment to work within the Human Services Quality Licensing Framework (HSQF).

Location of work is the Northside of Brisbane (Northlakes and surrounding suburbs)
