Lead the Accounts Payable (AP) activities, ensuring effective management of all areas across supplier payables, credit cards and employee expense claims during the year.


  • Assisting with improvements of processes and policies relating to AP including automation activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for key areas across AP including but not limited to:
  • Complete fortnightly payment runs, ad-hoc overseas payments and ensure accounts payable transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monthly reconciliation of payables subledgers.
  • Provide analysis and support to vendors and staff in relation to payment processing and management of creditors.
  • Process credit card transactions and create journals in line with month end timetable.
  • Investigating and resolving any irregularities or enquiries.
  • Be involved with AP initiatives and automation projects.
  • Assisting in adhoc financial management, requests and analysis.
  • Liaise and assist with auditors and the annual audit.
  • Fiscal management of APRA's activities and the safeguarding of assets in accordance with legislation, policy, and management requirements.

The Team
The role is a key contact within the finance operations, reporting and control team (FORC). The FORC team sits within the Finance team and is part of the Enterprise Services Division (ESD).

The team is responsible for partnering with all divisions across APRA, ensuring quality outcomes around finance operations, reporting and control.

Key internal stakeholders include senior leaders across APRA, Executive Admin Assistants, Finance, Procurement, IT and Internal Audit teams. Key external stakeholders include vendors, Oracle support provider and the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO).

Desirable but not essential knowledge / experience

  • Knowledge of Financial Management Information Systems (Oracle
  • AP).
  • Automation of processes and systems
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation applicable to AP matters
  • Tertiary qualifications in finance/accounting.
