They have significant assets globally and are currently seeking a Regulatory Risk and Compliance Officer to lead the implementation and ongoing management of regulatory risk, integrity, and compliance matters relating to their current and future projects, with a principal focus on the Australian business.
The role supports the company's senior management team and will be responsible for leading the functions of regulatory risk and integrity compliance to ensure that all deliverables and obligations are met.
About the Role:
Facilitate, identify, assess and manage regulatory risks.
Effectively plan and process all regulatory compliance requirements to meet defined project deliverables and schedules.
Be a subject matter expert on all relevant matters relating to legislation, regulations and policies which the business, its assets and projects are subject to, and setting policies that ensure compliance.
Responsible for leading stakeholder identification, engagement and management across the projects and operations the Directorate participates in.Be accountable for setting policies and standards for regulatory compliance, including monitoring, reporting and auditing of performance.
Establish, develop and implement initiatives to embed a Compliance Management Framework within the business.
Manage the reporting, review and regularisation of any incidences of non-conformance.
Own the regulatory risk and compliance register.
Define the annual regulatory integrity and compliance improvement and audit program, collaborating with senior leaders to drive its delivery and subsequent training for the broader business.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to conduct thorough risk assessments, and establish appropriate mitigation and control measures.Actively maintain and update regulatory and compliance knowledge to ensure the business continues to meet its compliance obligations.
Mentor and guide other employees and contractors to obtain and retain the business's Social Licence to Operate.
About You:
Tertiary qualification in risk management, governance, compliance, law, or other relevant discipline.
Substantial proven work experience managing regulatory risk and uncertainty, ethical business behaviour and compliance.
Strong understanding of the regulatory and government landscape relevant to the energy sector.
Demonstrated experience in identifying and building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Understanding of what it takes to maintain a Social Licence to Operate in the energy market.
Strong attention to detail, with high levels of organisation and efficiency.
Able to work with minimal supervision, displaying high levels of self-awareness, initiative and advocacy.
Have a broad external professional and functional network relevant to the energy sector.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
