As part of the broader Home Buying team,
Third Party Banking is a dedicated sales and service support channel for the mortgage business placed with CommBank, via mortgage brokers.

This team is a focused sales force with intensive calling programs, designed to ensure that CommBank product is front of mind when brokers are dealing with existing and prospective clients.

**Do work that matters

Reporting directly to the State Manager, Third Party Banking, our
Strategic Relationship Manager is responsible for driving profitable business by providing strong relationship and sales support management to a client base of strategically important brokers and advisers in the promotion of CommBank home loans and banking products for the Group.

You will be required to source new, highly productive brokers into the portfolio, and support brokers across QLD, which will require some periodic travel.


More specifically, you will:

  • Strategically support a crossstate portfolio via a hybrid engagement program utilising technology.
  • Proactively develop a mortgage/finance broker client base, implement a regular clientcall and visitation program, and use your knowledge of CommBank's banking products to achieve business unit sales and growth targets
  • Ensure the provision of consistently accurate technical, loan structuring and policy support to brokers to maximise sales outcomes and identify training and development issues, as well as drive the continuous improvement of brokers' knowledge and service standards to maximise sales activity
  • Take ownership of customer needs and identify appropriate service and product solutions, ensure that settlements are maximised, and that customer retention risks are identified and proactively resolved
  • Work in a team environment by developing and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues that support the achievement of team goals and objectives, deliver presentations to client groups, and attend banking and related promotional public relations events, whilst networking and managing successful relationships
  • Be a change advocate, understanding regulatory initiatives and be agile to implement as part of ongoing broker education
  • Set your portfolio up for growth as a key contributor to the national performance by aligning yourself to strategic opportunities with a hunter's mindset
**We're interested in hearing from people who have: - Working knowledge of CommSee or ability to learn new systems swiftly - essential

  • Intermediate MS Excel skills and the ability to perform statistical analysis preferred
  • Excellent industry knowledge of both local and national housing and mortgage broker markets, and prior experience in and knowledge of mortgage/lending products and services
  • Demonstrated ability in sales, business development and relationship management, with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Commercial acumen, and an understanding of the Group's credit and risk policies
  • The capacity to work in a busy, commercial, competitive environment, and the ability to meet objectives and targets
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related business field and a current, nonrestricted Australian driver's licence (preferred, not essential)
