About the role

Permanent part time opportunity to contribute to patient care by undertaking advanced clinical support tasks under the direct or indirect supervision of a Pharmacist.

The Advanced Scope Pharmacy Technician is recognised as part of the Pharmacy Technician leadership team and works closely with other Advanced Scope Pharmacy Technicians and the Pharmacy Technician - Team Leader to provide support to a large and diverse team.


This role will work directly with pharmacy, medical, nursing and allied health staff across all sites in the Kidney Health Service but be based largely at either Redcliffe, North Lakes, Kallangur, Bribie Island or Nundah health precincts.

Roster could include providing support to other sites such as Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital inpatients and outpatients, Stafford Kidney Health and Caboolture outpatient clinics).

About you

  • Provide a defined range of pharmacy services for patients with complex conditions under the delegation and guidance of a pharmacist.
  • Manage the delivery of medications to longterm patients with chronic conditions on repeat visits if appropriate, under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Exercise a high degree of autonomy, initiative and judgment in facilitating the provision of a pharmacy service within the Kidney Health Service and managing the service requirements accordingly. There may be some requirement to work between multiple sites within Metro North.
  • Conduct routine monitoring of pharmaceutical refrigerator temperatures in accordance with departmental policies and action any variations as required.
