Job Description

We have a unique opportunity ( Full Time and Part Time) for two experienced Caseworkers to join our Community Aged Services Team, creating opportunities and impowering older clients in our community to improve their quality of life.

As a Caseworker you will manage a case load of varying complexity within Home Support Services.

Responsible for the supervision of Home Care Employees (HCEs) and liaising with other services providing care and assistance to clients of the service.

As an advocate for clients' rights you will ensure they have access to quality care & access to the support of community.

This is either a part time ( Monday to Thursday) or full time opportunity requiring bilingual, ( Russian & English) language skills.

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Science, Allied Health or Nursing; or equivalent industry experience.
• Be proficient in both English and Russian language skills.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of the needs of aged clients and their carers;
• Extensive experience in the Aged Care sector or related work;
• Demonstrated experience in case management in the aged care sector;
• Knowledge of Consumer Direct Care packages, programs and standards;
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for clients;
• Ability to assess client support needs clinically and develop care plans that support those needs;
• Understanding of personcentred approach to client care;
• Ability to mediate difficult situations and crises with clients, carers and service providers.

Desirable Criteria

• Ability to monitor, supervise and direct staff in the management of client needs;
• Knowledge, sensitivity and an understanding of Jewish values, heritage and culture.
