About the Role

  • As the CEO, you will play a crucial role in steering the Town of Gawler towards a prosperous and sustainable future. Responsibilities include implementing Council strategies, managing various functions and activities, overseeing finances, assets, human resources, communications, and major projects.
  • This role demands a strong commitment to the social and economic agenda of the Town of Gawler, as well as a dedication to community engagement.
  • We seek a leader who can navigate diverse interests, manage expectations, collaborate with the Mayor and Elected Members, and foster effective communication and relationships.

About You

  • The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced, empathetic, and forward-thinking leader. You should demonstrate a track record of promoting adaptability, creativity, problem-solving, and innovation. Additionally, you must possess a high level of emotional intelligence, commitment to excellence, and encourage transparent decision-making and outstanding customer service.
  • You might have gained experience in the public, private, or not-for-profit sectors, dealing with a diverse range of community services. Strong relationship-building skills with key stakeholders are crucial, along with the ability to collaborate with Elected Members to meet community expectations.
  • Self-awareness, feedback, and continuous improvement should be integral to your approach.

In return for your commitment, Council offers an attractive salary package and a 5-year contract.
