About the Role:
This is a part time (0.5FTE), fixed term position until 23rd June 2024 within the Bacteriology Laboratory of the Microbiology Department.
The Grade 1 Laboratory Assistant is responsisble for performing laboratory and clerical duties under the direction and supervision of senior laboratory staff.
What you'll achieve:
- Perform routine laboratory, housekeeping and clerical duties
- Attend, participate in and successfully complete training provided by the department and the hospital
- Ensure all duties are carried out according to standard operating procedures and laboratory policies
- Work in a team environment with respect for other members of the team to achieve service goals
Your skills and experience:
- No formal tertiary qualifications required.
- Previous experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory is advantageous.
About the Department:
The Microbiology Laboratories, within the Department of Laboratory Services, provide comprehensive, high quality diagnostic microbiological services to both the Royal Children's and the Royal Women's Hospital.
