Are you looking for a dynamic role in waste management and city cleaning? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to join our Waste Services Team. As a Waste Services and City Clean Operator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our city streets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate machinery and equipment for waste disposal and street cleaning operations.
  • Carry out scheduled collections of domestic, commercial, and public bins in accordance with service protocols.
  • Swiftly address instances of illegal dumping and respond promptly to emergency service requests.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment to uphold safety standards and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities and report any issues or deviations.
  • Complete pre and post-task checklists to ensure all operational requirements are met.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Aid in the utilization of garbage compaction vehicles to support waste management activities.
  • Assist with the assembly, delivery, and retrieval of bins as required.
  • Fulfill additional duties as delegated by supervisors or management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • HR Licence is required
  • Experience in waste management or related field preferred.
  • Ability to operate plant and equipment effectively and safely.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Capability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.

COVID-19 Vaccination certification: The successful candidate for this position will be required to provide evidence of their double vaccination status, or a valid medical contraindication certificate, prior to the department finalising the appointment of the candidate.
