About the role

We have an exciting full-time opportunity for a WHS Advisor looking to take the next step in their career by joining our caring and supportive team across our sites in metropolitan Adelaide.


In this role, you will proactively support the team and the broader organisation to promote a safety culture with safe work practices.

As part of this, you will use best practice WHS management, assessment and reporting processes to provide a safe environment for our consumers, their families and LHG employees.


The key objects of this role are:

  • Contribute to the development of WHS policy and implementation of strategic initiatives
  • Administer the LHG WHS Management System ensuring compliance with relevant WHS Legislation, Approved Codes and Return to Work (SA) Performance Standards for Self-Insurers
  • Participate in identifying and delivering improvements to WHS management systems
  • Analyse WHS statistical trends for continuous improvement
  • Actively support compliance with reporting requirements e.g. SolvSafety, ESI and TRA processes
  • Facilitate/implement programmed WHS internal audits of the WHS management system to measure effectiveness and continued suitability of relevant WHS programs, policies and procedures
  • Maintain registers for events, incidents, accidents and injuries and provide analysis and WHS reporting to the General Manager, Facilities & Safety
  • Risk management analysis of identified potential safety and health hazards
About you

You understand WHS processes and frameworks and have the skills to engage with senior leaders to ensure we follow legislation and remain compliant.

You have a strong understanding of RTW support obligations and can proactively respond to incidents calmly and measuredly. Above all, you are passionate about organisational change and culture, and will ensure our organisation has effective WHS practices.

You also have the following attributes:

  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
  • 3+ years' experience working in a Workplace Health and Safety role
  • Strong organisational, time management and prioritisation skills
  • Selfdirected and able to work both autonomously and collaboratively with a diverse range of people
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
