OverviewCome and join TNS' Customer Installation team. We are a team of highly skilled and committed Network Technicians tasked with delivering the highest quality solutions for our customers across our global network. At TNS, we provide mission critical, managed network solutions to clients in the Payments and Financial Service Markets that allow them to transact across highly secure, reliable, and high-speed solutions globally. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Network Technical Engineer to develop and excel technically across a multitude of technology platforms that go into providing our best-in-class managed network solutions. The Technical Delivery Engineer is a technical role in the Global Service Delivery organization. It is both external customer and internal customer facing. This role is being made available in our Sydney office and is ready to be fulfilled now for the right candidate.Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Staging and configuration of TNS' Customer network equipment (router, switches, and associated carrier provided circuits) Working directly with customers over the phone, email or via other channels to support their service installations. Creating templated configurations for our customer services and deploying them in a controlled manner onto the network. Implementation of Network Infrastructure Projects from design state to installed and operational. Act as "Project Manager" for your project and demonstrate an ability to communicate well, set out schedule estimates, and maintain stakeholders up to date.

The main technology platforms we configure, and support are:
  • Linux
  • Cisco/Juniper
  • Fortinet
  • Virtual Access

The ideal candidate will not only do the job to the highest level of quality but will also proactively look to develop (through change of process/procedure or development of scripts/automation) ways of increasing quality and efficiency in how we deliver our services.

Other key responsibilities:
  • Build and consolidate professional working relationships with technical peers within customer organisations and the wider TNS community.
  • Provide and receive technical training to promote the sharing of knowledge, locally and globally.
  • Be part of a team that supports its members with a "can do" attitude to assist each other to meet priorities and deadlines.
  • Ensure back-end database integrity is maintained and highlight where existing data requires updating.
  • Use Time Management tools to assist with project task tracking and reporting.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Change Management policies and provide technical input and analysis to problem tickets as required.
  • Proactively identifies problem resolutions and process efficiencies to create a higher quality of service for our customers.
  • Creates documentation for new processes and procedures.
Qualifications

Desired Technical skills and Competencies:

  • Working experience of networking and application support on Linux
  • Understands IP networking to CCNA level, including configuration, and troubleshooting commands.
  • Excellent understanding of LAN and WAN protocols and infrastructure.
  • A sound knowledge of SD WAN systems, configuration, and protocols.
  • Can create and adapt scripts to automate processes using Perl, Python, VBA or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to work under limited supervision and effectively demonstrates the ability to use independent judgment regularly in performance of job responsibilities.
  • Proven experience in working concurrently on several reasonably complex assignments with minimal guidance.
  • Has understanding and experience in the delivery of mission critical services using Broadband and/or Mobile connectivity.
  • Proven examples of using initiative to resolve problems on mission critical IP networks proactively and reactively in a timely manner.
  • Effectively communicates information verbally and in writing in a clear and coherent manner.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a variety of responsibilities at the same time.

Education and Certification:

  • Educated to Degree standard in a relevant technical subject, for example Computer Science or Telecommunications, or having 3+ years equivalent industry experience.
  • Excellent English language skills
  • A point-of-sale (POS), ATM, banking or finance industry background is preferred.
  • Experience with Remedy and Salesforce is a benefit.
  • Mobile carrier data connectivity solution implementation/support
  • Cisco CCNA Certification (desired)
  • ITIL Foundations Certification (desired)
  • NSE 5-6 Fortinet certification (desired)
