The Administrative Team Leader oversees the day to day operations of our Ward Clerks (Geroe Unit, Connolly Unit and Operating Suite) to ensure admissions, transfers, discharges, medical record processes, customer relations and daily routines of the Units are carried out efficiently, and in accordance with relevant legislation and hospital protocols.

A vital component of the role is effective communication and positive working relationships with the Nurse Unit Managers.


The role is also responsible for the rostering of staff to ensure relevant areas are staffed adequately (backfilling in times of staff leave as required), conducting regular audits of iPM transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance, providing training for staff and developing consistent procedures and processes.


About you

  • Ability to provide leadership and technical expertise within the clerical team
  • High level knowledge of patient record management systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work to timelines
  • High level of computer and data entry skills including proficiency with the Microsoft Office software
  • High level understanding of privacy, confidentiality and Freedom of Information
