We are recruiting for a Senior Mining Engineer with open cut coal mining experience.

Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, this role is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining the site's medium term production schedule, including destination and haulage scheduling. This is a key leadership role within the business which offers brilliant longer-term career opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, develop, implement, and improve the Mine Plan for the 0-18 Month.
  • 3 Month Plan, Short Range Forecast, Dig & Dump Design, and haulage optimization.
  • Review and approve Short Term Dig & Dump and Drill & Blast plans.
  • Communicate Mine Plan outputs to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the annual budget and 5-year plan (5YP) development.
  • Mentor and coach within the Technical Services team.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.


About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a similar technical discipline.
  • Strategic mindset with strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in technical roles within the mining industry.
  • Experience in short, medium, and long-term operational planning.
  • Proficient in mining software packages (Vulcan, Deswik, SPRY) and engineering practices.
  • Passionate, proactive, and highly motivated with excellent planning and organizing skills.
  • Ability to coach/mentor junior engineers.
  • Full Australian working rights.
