About the role:

Box Hill Institute are seeking Casual Lecturers in Management and in Computer Networking to provide excellent teaching delivery and high quality and innovative course materials to students within the Bachelor of IT degree


Please note that these are two separate positions - one associated with teaching and scholarship in management units, namely Fundamentals of Management, Project Management, and Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and the other position involves teaching computer networking and security units namely Basic Systems Security and Server Systems Administration.


You will be delivering planned lessons using a variety of methods to engage students and meet their learning styles and needs.

You will also have the opportunity to design and develop teaching and learning resources, tailoring materials into a range of formats for blended learning options.

Casual Lecturers in Management and in Computer Networking are two of the several positions in the Higher Education College.

These positions reports to Academic Course Manager - IT and are responsible for liaising with students, relevant industry groups, community services providers, overseas partners and employees of the BHI Group at all levels.

The units in Management and Computer Networking/Security are taught to students enrolled in the Bachelor of IT degree.

The Higher Education College - Box Hill Institute is one of the first Victorian TAFE Institutes to deliver bachelor degrees and aims to become a leader in the provision of higher education within a TAFE environment.

Since 2005 Box Hill Institute has offered a range of career focused degrees. Our degrees will prepare capable graduates for employment opportunities in a global twenty-first century.

This position is based at Nelson Road Box Hill campus but may be expected to work in Elgar and across any campus of the BHI Group as required

About You:

  • Relevant disciplines
  • Management, Information Systems, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership, Computer Science, Computer Engineering.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Agile (and Scrum) project management for Casual Lecturer in Management
-
For management lecturers: demonstrated ability to undertake independent teaching and research in project management pertaining to Agile approaches, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

For computer networking lecturers: demonstrated ability to undertake independent teaching and research in network security and administration.

For both positions: an ability to make an independent contribution through professional practice and expertise. Demonstrated ability for lecturing and curriculum development at an undergraduate level is essential and maintaining academic integrity in assessments.

  • Experience in motivating and guiding students to optimise their learning outcomes
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using learning management systems (i.e.
Moodle) to create innovative and engaging learning experiences for students

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, appropriate for interacting with students, colleagues and industry to enhance the reputation of the relevant courses and the BHI Group
