Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Dietitian looking for a new and exciting role? Knox Private Hospital is looking for skilled, collaborative and passionate dieticians to provide casual acute dietetic cover.

Opportunity exists to pick up other shifts across our Healthscope hospital network in Melbourne.

This is a great role for someone looking for additional, yet flexible work hours or who is looking to obtain further acute experience.

We currently have Grade 2 casual positions available for an experienced Grade 1 or Grade 2, being supported by the Grade 2 or Grade 3 Dietician.

We have a 24/7 Emergency Department, covering a full range of medical and surgical specialty areas, including highly complex surgeries.

Backed by the latest technology and expertise, we offer a 15 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, diagnostic cardiology, two cardiac cath labs and capabilities for cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, urology and more.

All supported by a soon to be expanded coronary care unit and intensive care unit.

Exciting new expansion for Knox Private Hospital


Work is well underway on a major expansion of Knox Private Hospital that will help us continue to meet the growing demand for quality health care across Melbourne's east.


The new multi-million-dollar expansion will help Knox Private deliver an expanded and enhanced service offering for our patients, and will further cement our reputation as a world-class healthcare facility.


2023/2024 Expansion Project includes:


Three story North Tower with two wards (60 beds), upgrade to Knox Heart Centre (our non-invasive diagnostic cardiology), both recently commissioned, upgrade and increase in ICU and CCU beds, 16 chair renal dialysis unit and Specialist Consulting Suites.


As a Dietician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing evidence-based nutritional assessment and management of patients in an acute hospital setting
  • Demonstrating sound clinical reasoning and evidence based practice
  • Contributing to the multidisciplinary care of our patients
  • Involvement in quality improvement activities and service improvement projects
  • Supervision of undergraduate students
  • Effective and efficient communication with patients, families/caregivers and members of the multidisciplinary team

Essential criteria:

  • Bachelor in Nutrition and Dietetics (or equivalent) as recognised by the Dietitians Association of Australia
  • Eligible for full membership and APD status with Dietitians Association of Australia
  • Minimum 2 years' acute hospital experience
  • Well consolidated acute clinical nutrition skills
  • Exceptional time management and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Proven excellence in customer service delivery
  • Commitment to ongoing education and the provision of evidence based practice
  • Authority to Work in Australia
