About the Opportunity

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for you to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Eating Disorders team as a Nurse Consultant, where you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the leadership team delivering Evidence Based Eating Disorder Treatment.
  • Provide advanced mental health nursing care, choose and implement therapies, manage individual cases, and assess patient progress.
  • Utilize data for decision-making, quality improvement, incident monitoring, ensuring safety, outcome evaluation, and staff communication.
  • Apply expertise to oversee and improve research activities, enhancing nursing and midwifery practice and service delivery.
  • Offer leadership, serve as a role model, mentor, consultant, and resource person.
  • Provide guidance within the team and to other CAMHS staff.
  • Deliver services at other CAMHS metropolitan sites and via Health Direct.

About You

To excel in this position, you should have:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate, enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or holds a qualification in mental health practice.
  • Registered Nurse and or Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience
  • Strong leadership skills including highly developed abilities in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and to prioritize workload and meet set timelines.
  • Experience in supervising students, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses and /or midwives.
