Operate a range of computer software (word processing, LIMS g., AUSLAB, Forensic Register) with a high level of accuracy to ensure integrity of records and reporting are maintained.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Ability to gain an understanding of sample handling procedures and willingness to receive and handle various types of forensic material including illicit drugs, biological materials, and various physical Procedures must be in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety guidelines and performed to an acceptable level of accuracy as required in a forensic environment.
- Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide quality service to various stakeholders in a large and complex organisation.
- Experience in dealing with clients from diverse backgrounds with differing needs and competing
- Ability to organise and prioritise daily workloads, sometimes working with mínimal supervision and to accept nonroutine tasks.
- Capacity to work independently and as a member of a team ensuring that effective workflow is maintained in fastpaced situations.
- Ability to develop proficiency in the use of various Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS).
- Ability to follow detailed documented policies and procedures with a commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality and process improvement.
- Ability to actively participate in a working environment, supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, antidiscrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical
- Whilst not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well
- Provision of a DNA sample may be required for use on the staff DNA elimination database to comply with accreditation requirements.
