These projects target grain farming enterprises across Australia, aiming to build soil carbon through groundbreaking science and unique Loam products, opening up new opportunities for Australian grain growers.The main objective is to offer agronomic services to growers within Loam Carbon Projects, helping them enhance soil carbon levels and thereby improve crop production efficiencies.This newly established role will involve being part of the commercial operations team, focusing on expanding Loam's agronomic presence and reputation in the designated region.Reporting to Loam's National Technical Agronomy Manager, your primary focus will be servicing existing and potential SecondCrop growers with specialized carbon agronomy advice and practices, including guidance on GreenHouse Gas emissions and drafting land management strategies for carbon project registration.Open Role Dependent: This remote position covers either:- Northern NSW- Southern NSW & Central VICResponsibilities:
  • Offer on-farm agronomic and technical support in line with Loam's standards, highlighting the benefits of our products for soil health to achieve positive outcomes for farmers.
  • Collaborate with the National Technical Agronomy Manager to provide specialist carbon agronomy support to grower partners and establish strong relationships with them.
  • Provide regional agronomic insights to the National Technical Agronomy Manager to contribute to the development of Loam's products and programs.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of agronomic knowledge, especially soil function and microbiology, to communicate the advantages of soil carbon and Loam's programs.
  • Work with the engagement team on field activities like demonstrations, trials, and farmer meetings as per Loam's operational strategy.
  • Ensure high-quality record-keeping, generate periodic reports, and maintain data accuracy using a CRM.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in broadacre agronomy practices and varied agricultural systems.
  • Proven track record in farmer extension, translating scientific best practices for growers.
  • Prior experience in commercial agribusiness is a plus.
  • Passion for sustainable agriculture practices and understanding of carbon sequestration techniques and their environmental impact is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication across different levels, including public speaking.
  • Ability to take initiative, strong problem-solving skills, and the capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Located in a regional area and willingness to travel regularly to engage with grain farming communities in the operational region.
  • Bachelor's degree in agricultural science or related field is highly beneficial.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, demonstrating tech-savviness and strong record-keeping skills for maintaining customer service standards, is a plus.
