Are you ready to be part of the team that designs and tests orbital class rockets in Gold Coast? We are looking for a Deputy Head of Mechanical to support the Head of Mechanical in running the department smoothly.

You'll be responsible for documenting and facilitating communication across teams to ensure tasks are efficiently executed following company policies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure departmental performance
  • Assist in reviewing mechanical designs and structural interfaces
  • Design, verify, and test mechanical and structural systems
  • Develop test plans for parts and support junior team development
  • Collaborate with Guidance and Propulsion departments as necessary
  • Manage and resolve complex problems efficiently
  • Review data for mechanical layouts and manage engineering timelines
  • Handle other tasks as assigned by management

Mandatory Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional mechanical engineering experience
  • Experience with CAD software and simulation tools
  • NV1 Security Clearance eligibility is a plus

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Ability to manage and lead a team of engineers
  • Proficiency in Matlab, C++, Python, and other engineering tools
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to health and safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement
