Our Boddington operation provides you with the opportunity to live locally and go home every day or stay in our Village for your roster and DIDO.

We are only 130kms from the Perth CBD and approximately 100kms from the coast.

You will work an 8:7:7:6, 12.5 hour day roster so there's plenty of time to enjoy the lifestyle this area can offer you.


What you will be doing


Your key objective as the Mining Supervisor is the leadership of the mining shift team to safely achieve the daily budget targets and to ensure progressive, sustainable improvements within the Mining division consistent with Newmont Boddington Gold Operations business goals.


Accountabilities will include:

  • Providing effective supervision, training and development to Newmont and Business Partner operational personnel within the open pit environment.
  • Facilitate and lead effective prestart meetings and shift handovers by providing clear concise and relevant information.
  • Allocation of resources to safely implement and deliver the 12hour shift plan.
  • Assessing competency levels of team, maintaining a training matrix, establishing development plans and coaching and mentoring,
  • Safety & Environmental Inspections and investigations, safety interactions, auditing of direct reports safety interactions and collection of data and reporting
  • Support team effectiveness through managing interpersonal dynamics, leave approvals and encouraging positive and efficient communications with other teams.
  • Assist in the planning of equipment movements across the site.
  • Maintaining compliance with the daily and weekly production schedule and mining plans.
  • Effective interaction and communication with Autonomous Control Room, Safety Advisors, Drill & Blast crews, Short Term Planning Engineers and Mine Maintenance Supervisors.

Who you are?
Your significant supervisory and equipment operation experience in large hard rock mining operations is essential

You will also have:

  • A Frontline Management Certificate or equivalent
  • A Restricted Quarry Managers Certificate
  • Mine dispatch systems experience
  • Experience within an Autonomous Mining Operation
