The School is located in the Faculty of Science and has approximately 50 full time members of academic staff, 15 general staff and an operating budget of over $12M.


The Parent-Child Research Clinic (PCRC) in the School of Psychology at the University of New South Wales is seeking qualified applicants for a Research Trial Coordinator position.

The PCRC, directed by Prof Eva Kimonis, conducts research at the intersection of developmental and clinical psychology, to advance scientific research into early intervention for childhood mental disorders.


The Trial Coordinator will work with key stakeholders in Southwest Sydney as part of an externally funded project on "Study and Prevention of Childhood Disruptive Behaviour Disorders" within the Parent-Child Research Clinic (PCRC) in the School of Psychology at the University of New South Wales.

The position will coordinate the implementation of the funded research trial and be responsible for data collection, entry, and management, and contributing to data analysis
.



About the role

$91k - $97k plus 17% Superannuation, annual leave loading

  • Fixed Term 12 months
  • Fulltime (35 hours per week)
The role will report to Professor Eva Kimonis and has no direct reports.

Specific responsibilities for this role include:

  • Coordinate and administer the project in compliance with all relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Coordinate the clinical research trial, including managing recruitment, screening, scheduling and tracking participants, and identifying and resolving issues surrounding participation rates.
  • Develop and maintain wellorganised, efficient systems of scheduling, communication, meeting documentation, and file organisation and train project staff in their use.
  • Perform tasks associated with undertaking the research trial, including scoring measures, literature reviews, data collection, entry, management, and analysis, and identify and resolve issues surrounding data quality.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of reports, manuscripts, and presentations based on research conducted.
  • Align with and actively demonstrate the UNSW Values in Action: Our Behaviours and the UNSW Code of Conduct.
  • Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself or others.

About the successful applicant

(Selection Criteria)
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated research experience.
  • Strong organisational skills including an ability to undertake a range of diverse tasks, to work independently, accurately, and with attention to detail and to deliver work on time.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and levels of seniority.
  • Experience with research data management and statistical analysis using statistical software (SPSS).
  • Ability and capacity to implement required UNSW health and safety policies and procedures.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.

Desirable:

  • Honours degree in Psychology
  • Demonstrated experience in managing longitudinal and/or clinical research studies.
  • Previous experience working with children and families, schools, and with people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical experimental design, statistics and statistical methods.
  • Strong computer, statistical, and technical skills.
