About the Position:

As the Health & Safety Advisor Site Transition at Torrens Island Power Station, your role will involve leading health and safety activities, managing risks, and overseeing the decommissioning and demolition process of the power station. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, communicating, and executing programs to minimize risks to people, assets, and the environment.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide Health & Safety advice and support to enhance awareness and assist in risk mitigation.
  • Engage, motivate, and influence workers and leaders to meet safety obligations and performance expectations.
  • Develop and share communications to educate employees and contractors on safety matters.
  • Support the implementation of Health & Safety programs for AGL Asset Closure and Transitions plans.
  • Assist leaders in incident investigations and identify root causes to prevent future occurrences.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and other activities to enhance safety performance.
  • Identify trends and areas for improvement in safety practices.
  • Build relationships and engage in safety initiatives.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with safety processes.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor with a background in heavy industrial environments. Your enthusiasm and commitment to best practices in Health & Safety will inspire a proactive safety culture.

Your Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in WHS Management.
  • Extensive experience in industrial H&S roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in promoting safety culture and assurance activities.
  • Previous experience in the power industry, industrial closures, or demolitions preferred.
  • Experience in large-scale construction projects and outages/shutdowns.
  • Contractor management experience.
  • Strong focus on systems and programs, including reporting and competency assurance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
