Lead a friendly and passionate team of officers supporting the input and management of critical data sets across Huon's operations.

With experience in analysis and maintaining data integrity, you will enjoy a great variety of both training and supporting our managers across the business to gain insights from our data management systems (DMS) as well as working closely with the Planning and IT teams to further build and enhance Huon's data capture and reporting systems.


THE ROLE
Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Operations Support Analyst will:

  • Foster a supportive environment for a small team of Operations Support Officers
  • Work closely with your team to develop and support reporting and analytics functions for the business
  • Support managers at all levels with enquiries about existing data and reports
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to understand, develop, and execute on reporting needs
  • Work proactively with operational teams to understand gaps concerning data accuracy and data integrity and find ways to continuously improve processes


Within this role you will have the opportunity to sink your teeth into some great projects focused on: improving visibility of day to day operations to streamline cross-departmental workflows; upskilling teams in the use of bespoke data capture tools; creation of data capture processes to provide insights into fish health management.


Operating on a full-time basis, this role will be located at our Hobart Office TAS with regular travel to our Southern Tasmanian sites.

ABOUT YOU

  • You have an eye for detail and experience in analytics and working with database systems ensuring accuracy and efficiency in your work
  • Your approachable nature will make it easy for employees to come to you when seeking training and support on how to use our data management systems
  • You enjoy and are capable of building sincere relationships with diverse range of people are well versed in communicating complex ideas in easier to understand ways
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and experience using FishTalk, MEX or similar biological or asset management systems is highly desirable
  • You've demonstrated to your proactive approach to making systems and processes more efficient
  • Previous experience in aquaculture is desirable but not essential

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current drivers' licence
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications or experience in business analytics and/or aquaculture/agriculture or environmental management is desirable but not essential
